East Economy Phase
II Garage
Sky
Harbor International Airport, Phoenix, Arizona
Dibble was the prime
consultant for the design of the $40 million,
3,600-space East Economy Phase 2 Garage Structure.
The facility is an eight-level precast concrete
structure designed with an emphasis on safety
and ease of use. The work included caisson
foundations, an air-conditioned ground-level
waiting lobby, a vehicular ramp outside the
garage, glass-front elevators, steel-framed
canopies on the top level, steel-framed stairwells,
garage signing and striping, a garage drainage
system and outfall storm drain, water and
sewer lines, lighting and an emergency generator,
an electronic space count system compatible
with Sky Harbor's current system, and CCTV
security cameras with related infrastructure.
In addition, the project involved coordination
of the relocation design for 3,000 feet of
69-inch sewer and a new Odor Control Facility.
Also included were airspace evaluations associated
with the facilitys proximity to a runway,
including a Part 77 evaluation, coordination
of a Terminal Instrument Procedures Study,
and submittal of an FAA Form 7460 for approval.
