Drainage & Flood Control

Scottsdale Road, Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard to Thompson Peak Parkway - Segment 1
Scottsdale, Arizona

Dibble provided pavement and drainage analysis and design for the reconstruction of approximately ½ mile of Scottsdale Road and a portion of Mayo Boulevard in the vicinity of the Loop 101 Freeway. The drainage component of the project included extensive off-site hydrology data collection and both onsite and offsite stormwater runoff design. A culvert and channel conveyance system is provided to transport 100-year stormwater runoff safely from the Loop 101 Freeway through a Lund Cadillac commercial property, adjacent to Scottsdale Road and Mayo Boulevard. The pavement drainage component of the project included complete design for a 10-year storm event, including approximately ½ mile of new underground storm drain. Construction was completed in 2005.
