Tucson,

Dibble provided the
design for site elements for the Thomas W.
Keating Bioresearch Building and the Medical
Research Building, which share a site on the
University of Arizona campus. These Construction
Manager at Risk projects achieved occupancy
in 2005. The projects included demolition
of approximately 4 acres of existing University-owned
buildings and associated utilities. The site
was master-planned to accommodate the expansion
of both buildings. A mass site grading plan
was prepared for the site and the adjacent
blocks to provide better site visibility and
to account for approximately 8 feet of fall
across the site. Concurrent design of an adjacent
utility project that provides new service
and a new utility tunnel to the buildings
required extensive coordination. New utilities
include domestic water, chilled water, compressed
air/RO water, sewer, storm drain, natural
gas, fiber optics, and underground electric.
