US 60, Florence Junction
to Queen Creek Project, Queen Valley Segment
Pinal County County, Arizona
Dibble designed a segment
of the US 60, Florence Junction to Queen Valley Project
in Pinal County for the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The improvements included widening the existing 2-lane
roadway to a 4-lane, divided highway from the recently
completed Florence Junction Traffic Interchange (MP
213.3), through the Gonzales Pass summit, to Queen Creek
(MP 222.2). Dibble provided roadway and drainage design
for approximately 3 miles of roadway at the west end
of the project, from Milepost 213.3 to Milepost 216.3.
Preliminary plans were also prepared for a traffic interchange
at the Queen Valley Road intersection. This federally-funded
project included coordination with the Magma Arizona
Railroad for one railroad crossing and with several
utility companies. Right-of-way requirements were coordinated
with the Arizona State Land Department.
