Community Park Irrigation Reservoir & Booster Pump Station
Buckeye, Arizona

Dibble Engineering provided comprehensive design engineering and project management services for the Town of Buckeye for this project that provides effluent water to irrigate a proposed park with its primary source of water provided by a 12-inch effluent main located in Rainbow Road. This main (installed by others) passes, through the project site providing a connection to the reservoir and booster pump station and provides a complete bypass of the reservoir and booster pump station for low pressure effluent delivery to the park. The secondary source of water is the existing on-site well until sufficient flow is available from the Sundance Waste Water Treatment Plant. An analysis of the existing well and pump was conducted to determine the pumping rate and volume of water the well can supply. We designed a package booster pump station to boost the pressure of the effluent water to meet the required 80 psi pressure demand at the proposed park.

Dibble analyzed the existing steel reservoir and determined it had structurally deteriorated. The existing 300,000 gallon welded steel water storage reservoir was replaced with a new one.

The new reservoir has two roof hatches with safety rails, and a safety rail around the entire circumference of the roof, exterior ladder with cage, two access manways, reservoir overflow assembly, a roof vent, and exterior level indicator per the Town Engineer requirements. Dibble designed with the assistance of the geotechnical engineer a concrete ring foundation for the new reservoir.

In addition, Dibble provided construction phase services which included construction meetings, site visits, submittal review, request for information (RFI) review, commissioning assistance, and final acceptance of the project.
