Longmont Vance Brand Municipal Airport New Taxilane
Improvements taking flight for future airport development.
This project included the construction of a new taxilane section, approximately 534 feet in length, that intersects on the south side of Taxiway B, east of connector Taxiway B2, and west of the existing hangar area. The new taxilane provides access to future development proposed in the southeast area of the airport. Minimal taxiway lighting and drainage was also included with this project.
Major elements of work includes temporary removal of pavement markings, removal and salvage of existing asphalt pavement, underground electric to be removed in part and rerouted, an addition of twin 30-inch by 19-inch rubber gasket reinforced concrete pipes (RGRCP), grading of subgrade for runoff drainage, construction of approximately 3,104 square yards of Hot Mixed Asphalt (HMA) pavement, construction of approximately 338 square yards of service road using salvaged asphalt millings, construction and installation taxiway edge lighting fixtures; and the replacement of apron markings.
