Dibble Engineering is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to join our Airport Development practice. This dynamic individual will be responsible for engineering and leading design efforts for airside and landside airport infrastructure and development projects. Tasks will include preparation of technical studies and reports, engineering design concepts, construction plans, specifications, opinions of construction costs, and assistance during construction phase services including field observation.

Education and Experience

B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, and 4 to 6 years of experience in airport/aviation civil engineering.

Qualifications and Benefits

• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Arizona or the ability to obtain registration within six months; • Demonstrated successful experience with engineering/design of air carrier and general aviation airport improvements, including pavement, drainage, utility, and landside/site projects; • Ability to coordinate and direct efforts of technical staff to develop high-quality deliverables; • Thorough knowledge and application of FAA design standards and specifications; • Knowledge of FAA and state airport capital funding processes; • Expertise using engineering design and office software, including AutoCAD Civil3D and MS Office; • Ability to exercise discretion, and balance the need for independent and collaborative efforts; • Construction administration and observation experience preferred.

Under the direction of the Project Engineer or Project Manager, this position will be responsible for both design and plan production of construction drawings in support of residential projects. This Senior Designer will serve as the design team lead to ensure timely, and accurate completion of project deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design and plan production for grading, paving, drainage, water, and sewer for residential projects as standalone subdivisions and within master planned communities • Provide quality control on design, plan production, and company CAD Standards on all projects • Prepare engineering calculations in support of infrastructure design • Interpret and apply proper design standards within various municipalities • Coordinate with project team members and other consultants • Engage in direct interaction with review agencies • Adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget • Mentor and assist CAD Technicians and Designers

Qualifications

The selected candidate will have 8-10 years of land development design experience with both conventional and hill side residential developments. Under the direction of the Project Engineer or Project Manager, this position will provide project engineering design and layout of construction drawings in support of the Land Development team. This role will also be accountable for compliance with all company design standards, work with project team and provide guidance to CAD Technicians and other Designers for timely and accurate completion of project deliverables, and ensure highest quality of all deliverables.

Reponsibilities

1) Implementation of all appropriate CAD standards on all project drawings, including: verifying appropriate CAD standards for project, base sheets, reference files, drawing layout, layer convention/naming, line styles, text size & styles, etc. 2) Coordinate with Project Manager on all CAD deliverables by providing input to project schedule, monitoring project schedule and timeliness of CAD deliverables, participating in weekly project status meeting, and providing guidance to other Designers, Technicians, and Engineers working on the project. 3) Mentor and assist CAD Designers in CAD and design related questions. 4) Work independently with minimal supervision and as a part of a multidisciplinary team with support from Project Managers and/or Engineers.

Qualifications

1) Demonstrate high level of proficiency in all CAD Designer duties and qualifications. 2) Ability to mentor and train other CAD Designers. 3) Demonstrate working understanding in advanced design concepts such as the ability to calculate retention requirements based on rainfall, runoff coefficient and drainage area; ability to size storm drain and sewer pipes based on hydraulic flows, etc. 4) Minimum 5 years relevant Land Development experience. 5) Proficiency in Civil3D is required. 6) Must think Team First.

Education and Qualification Requirements

Experience & Education: B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 8 years relevant assessment, design and construction oversight experience. Possess Professional Engineering license for the State of Arizona or have the ability to obtain an Arizona PE license within 3 months. Certified by the National Association of Sewer Service Companies (NASSCO) in PACP and MACP or ability to obtain within 6 months. Background in water, wastewater and reclaimed water infrastructure asset management, condition assessment, trenchless rehabilitation design, and construction quality control oversight. Current GIS planning, scheduling and design software preferred with proficiency in Microsoft Office products a necessity. Qualifications: Possess industry recognized expertise in engineering assessment, design, and construction oversight of water, wastewater and reclaimed water infrastructure. Demonstrated success leading project teams in the assessment of buried infrastructure condition and delivery of design documents for its rehabilitation. Show specialized expertise in cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining, slip lining, and pipe bursting design along with protective coating repair of buried structures. Demonstrated ability to assemble, lead and manage diverse teams of internal experts and strategic partners. Possess strong oral and written communication skills in English. Hold a valid Arizona Department of Motor Vehicle issued driver's license with ability to be insured.
