E.I.T. Rotation Program

One of the benefits of working or interning for Dibble is our goal-specific Engineer-in-Training Program. This gives our engineers-to-be the hands-on training to excel and understand their roles as an engineer in our industry. This program offers training for the multiple disciplines within the company, from Airport Development to Water+Wastewater.

EIT employees rotate on annual basis to different departments to increase skill set, experience various applications of Civil Engineering, and to prepare for the PE Exam. The goal is to determine preferred specialty once they achieve their PE. This program will have you work directly with professional team members. This timeframe allows our EIT’s to train, learn and team-build successfully. After they have completed their time with one discipline, they will rotate to another. This process is carefully thought out and may be adjusted due to professional goals. In some cases, we have had EIT’s who have made a positive impact to a team and have continued to work the team to finish a project before rotating to the next discipline.

Often times young graduates fresh out of school do not have enough exposure to the wide array of focus areas within civil engineering. Dibble’s EIT rotation program provides new EITs with an excellent opportunity to get hands-on experience of working on challenging projects and learning from talented engineers within various engineering practices. This provides them with the necessary exposure allowing them to make a conscious well-informed decision to further their career development.

Dibble’s EIT Rotation Program offers young engineers with the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of civil engineering disciplines and with a greater variety of Dibble staff. From these experiences, our engineers develop a broad understanding of civil engineering that they can apply to the specific field they ultimately chose. Having a broad understanding of civil engineering helps all engineers make informed decisions throughout the design development process.Dibble’s EIT rotation program provides new EITs with an excellent opportunity to get hands-on experience of working on challenging projects and learning from talented engineers within various engineering practices. The EIT Rotation Program exposes young engineers to a wide range of disciplines that help build a strong engineering foundation right out of the gate. It also provides an opportunity to work with (and learn from) many different people, teams and clients. It is a very rewarding experience.

Internships

We offer a formal program to guide students and graduates in gaining experience in a professional environment. This program allows students to bring in their classroom knowledge and integrate it with the skills they will gain, learn, and use daily. Working side-by-side with team leaders who will also provide mentorship, feedback on projects, and help build your network.

Joining our internship program will prepare you for what is to be expected in your field of study, how our workplace operates, and pave the way for your fulfilling career here at Dibble.

My internship with Dibble Engineering gave me real world experience in plan production, construction administration, and client interactions. It was extremely valuable and taught me many things I wouldn’t have learned in school. My hands-on experience with AutoCAD and plan production in my internship helped me perform well above my classmates in my senior design class. My interactions with others in Dibble inspired me to continue in the consulting side of the industry. My great experience at Dibble led me back to Dibble after an internship at another firm and graduation.

I’ve been fortunate to work with many excellent people during my time with Dibble. Beginning as an intern, then continuing as an Engineer-in-Training and working between multiple practices in multiple offices has provided me with a strong base of engineering fundamentals. Being able to work on different types of projects with different engineers has provided me with many examples of quality leadership, many types of technical challenges to work through, and an appreciation for quality deliverables and client service
