Gonvarri Gestamp Solar Steel

Dibble completed the civil elements for the design of the new Gestamp Solar Steel manufacturing facility in the City of Surprise Solar Manufacturing District. Phase 1 improvements including the manufacturing building, an office building, and on-site access roadways on half of the 27-acre site. Civil design included horizontal and vertical design of these elements as well as approximately 2,500 linear feet of public water line and sewer and fire building services. The design and layout of Phase 1 considered the future phases with careful attention given to building loading access to the adjacent rail line.

The future phases will consist of multiple buildings, many may connect to the adjacent existing or proposed building. This requirement to consider the future was acknowledged when setting the finish floor elevation on the first phase. As a manufacturing facility, large truck access and adequate space for truck maneuvering within the site is critical. We performed multiple truck traffic and turning movement analyses to assure proper access and truck stacking is provided without hindering traffic throughout the site.
