#VotesforSocks Results Are In: What Matters Most for the Future of Transportation

At this year’s Roads & Streets Conference, we took a fun and insightful approach to understanding what’s top of mind for transportation professionals across Arizona—with our #VotesforSocks campaign! Attendees cast their votes (and earned some stylish socks in the process) by sharing what they believe are the most pressing issues shaping the future of our industry.
🎉 The results are in, and they speak volumes:
- 💰 Financial Resources topped the list, with 35% of participants identifying funding as the biggest challenge to advancing transportation infrastructure and innovation.
- 👷♀️ Workforce came in close behind at 30%, highlighting the importance of attracting, retaining, and evolving talent in a rapidly changing landscape.
- 🤖 Technology was a priority for 21% of voters, reflecting the growing role of digital tools, automation, and smart systems in modern transportation.
- 📅 Scheduling was the main concern for 8%, pointing to the complexities of project timelines and coordination.
- 🧩 All of the Above: 6% of respondents couldn’t choose just one—they believe every issue is equally critical to our collective success.
This campaign wasn’t just about socks—it was about listening. We’re grateful to everyone who participated and shared their perspective. Your input helps guide our focus as we continue to collaborate, innovate, and lead solutions that support resilient, efficient, and inclusive transportation systems.
Let’s keep the conversation going—and the socks walking!
