Dibble participated in the 2023 ITS Arizona Annual Conference on September 20-21. Dibble’s Director of Traffic Engineering, Seth Chalmers, PE, presented on roadway safety and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Topics included:

• The role of ADAS and Automated Driving Systems (ADS) in preventing crashes
• “D drivers” and the FHWA Safe System approach
• The need to evolve standards for ADAS and ADS, considering both human and robot drivers
• How we can reshape our nation’s approach towards vehicle safety
