Dibble Celebrating Casa Grande Community Recreation Center Grand Opening
Dibble Engineering joined by teaming partners including Architekton and Haydon Building Corporation.
Casa Grande, Arizona – Dibble Engineering, a leading regional provider of high-quality multidisciplinary services for the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry, was on hand celebrating the grand opening of the Casa Grande Community Recreation Center on May 6, 2019. The event was open to the public and included an open house of the brand new facility. In attendance was the mayor of Casa Grande, Craig McFarland and the City Council: Donna McBride, Dick Powell, Mary Korsten, Matt Herman, Lisa Navarro Fitzgibbons and Robert Huddleston, Dibble staff and representatives from Architekton and Haydon Building Corp were also present.
Dibble provided survey and civil engineering services for the 55,000 sf, $16M facility that serves the health, safety and well-being of all age groups in the Casa Grande community. The multi-purpose Center offers an indoor track, a teen meeting space, basketball, volleyball and pickleball courts. Other amenities include aerobics, dance and yoga rooms, free weights and a wide assortment of exercise machines. The new facility houses the city’s Recreation Division with dedicated offices and is also home to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Casa Grande Valley, which serves an average of 600 children daily.
Dibble also successfully completed the widening of Peart Road that leads to the new Recreation Center by 2,500 ft. Dibble created full amenities for the new roadway including ADA accessible sidewalks, streetlights, pavement drainage, traffic signal modification, raised medians with landscaping, and bike lanes.
Architectural services were provided by teaming partner Architekton, the general contractor was Haydon Building Corporation, with ExhibitOneAV serving as the audiovisual integrator. Ground breaking occurred in February of 2018 and the facility was completed in late April of 2019.
The Casa Grande Community Recreation Center will primarily serve the City of Casa Grande, which has a population of 55,000 and is 47 miles southeast of Phoenix, Arizona. Casa Grande was founded in 1879 as an endpoint to the Southern Pacific Railroad. The railroad developed from Arizona’s mining boom of the 1800’s.
"We are proud to be a part of such a welcomed facility for the City of Casa Grande. The teamwork on the project from all involved and the appreciation/positive reaction from the surrounding community made this project a win win for everyone," says Shannon Mauck, PE, Civil Project Manager, Dibble Engineering.
