The First Medical Center Offering Acute and Ambulatory Care to the Sonoran Area
Dibble provided the civil engineering services for this CMAR project for the new Honor Health Hospital Campus located at I-17 and Dove Valley, in Phoenix, Arizona. An analysis was completed for the full 85-acre site to ensure sufficient infrastructure was available as the campus develops into a wellness community.
The first phase of the project includes the development of a 160,000-square foot hospital located on approximately 25-acres. The hospital will initially feature 40 beds with the capacity to expand to nearly 80 beds in the future and will include a 24-hour emergency care unit, obstetrical and gynecological services as well as a surgical unit. The existing free-standing emergency department building located adjacent to the new hospital will be re-purposed to include an ambulatory surgery center as well as other services such as breast and medical imaging. Design of the new hospital included a planning effort for a new Medical Office Building (MOB) immediately south of the new hospital; this was considered with the Hospital utility infrastructure design. Prior to commencement of design, a detailed site planning exercise was completed to select the location of the new hospital within the campus. The project required coordination with the adjoining neighborhood, ADOT, and the City of Phoenix.
