Waste Management Regional Material Recycling Facility

Saving Thousands of Trees

This Design-Build project included a 69,000-sf pre-engineered metal building on a 12-acre site. Dibble provided civil engineering services that included design of an onsite septic system, and onsite tank for fire suppression, and incorporated the landfill master drainage plan, which included rerouting some of the landfill runoff channels. We also had to take into consideration the ongoing landfill operations during the construction phase. Coordination with Maricopa County and the City of Surprise was required.

This local facility is now capable of recycling more than 59,000 tons of paper, cardboard, cans and bottles. The main goal in recycling these materials will save thousands of trees, millions of gallons of water and millions of Kilowatts of electricity.

This project is LEED Silver Certified.
