Do you have a hobby? Tell us about it.

One of my favorite hobbies is hiking, especially exploring the incredible landscapes of the US and Canadian national parks. For the past twelve years, a group of close friends and I have made it a tradition to hike a different national park each year, immersing ourselves in the beauty, solitude, and challenge each unique environment offers. Whether it’s the towering cliffs of Zion, the alpine lakes of Banff, or the desert vistas of the Grand Canyon, each experience has deepened my appreciation for the world God created and provided unforgettable memories. Hiking is more than exercise for me—it’s a way to reconnect, reflect, and recharge.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

One of my dream vacations is to visit the Maldives with my wife, Beth. The idea of relaxing together in an overwater bungalow, surrounded by clear blue water and peacefulness, is a bucket-list destination for both of us.

If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would it be?

If I could become an expert in something, I’d choose to be a chef—specifically one who owns and runs a wood-fired pizza restaurant. There’s something magical about crafting the perfect pie, experimenting with fresh ingredients, and watching people gather around good food. I love the idea of creating a warm, welcoming space where community and great food come together, and where every pizza tells a story.

If you could write a book about your life, what would the title be and why?

If I were to write a book about my life, I’d title it “Ouch, That Hurt… Don’t Do That Again!” It would be a collection of lessons learned the hard way—through experience, reflection, and a lot of grace. Life has a way of teaching us what works and what doesn’t, and I’ve found that growth often comes from the bumps and bruises along the way. The title reflects my ongoing journey of self-awareness, learning from mistakes, and trying to make better choices the next time around. It’s about being honest with myself, staying humble, and always striving to do better.
