Do you have a hobby? Tell us about it.

One of my favorite hobbies is attending music festivals and concerts with my friends. Recently, I attended M3Festival here in Phoenix at the beginning of March. I saw some of my favorite artists like DRAMA, Hippo Campus, Poolside, and lots more! One of my favorite festivals I have attended was Lollapalooza in Chicago. If you ever have the opportunity to go, you should! The weather in Chicago was amazing, and I loved that we had the option to explore the city or the lake. Music has always been important to me, and I always feel so fulfilled after a concert or festival.

What is your chosen discipline (engineering, planning, surveying, etc)? Why do you love it?

I love civil engineering because I enjoy the satisfaction of problem-solving and working with a team to do it!

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

If I could go anywhere in the world, I would go to Kyoto, Japan. My boyfriend and I love Hayao Miyazaki films, so I feel it would be very nostalgic. Besides the amazing culture, I have always wanted to see the cherry blossoms in bloom. I would love to see all the temples, ponds, cherry blossoms, and all the other amazing aspects of Kyoto in real life one day.

If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would it be?

Singing.

If you could write a book about your life, what would the title be and why?

It would be titled “A Girls World” because my favorite thing to do is spend time with my girlfriends, and my goal is to spend as much time as possible doing fun activities with them.

What’s one thing you’re learning now, and why is it important?

Right now, I am learning to look at the bigger picture. As an engineer, I find myself being very detail-oriented, but I’m quickly realizing how beneficial it can be to zoom out and understand the bigger picture. Understanding why I’m doing something will help piece everything else together.
