Drew Spear

Vice President, Senior Project Manager, and Rose Gardener

Tell us about your hobby.
I enjoy woodworking, not so much furniture, but useful household things like picture frames, trellises, basic cabinets, and toys. My newest hobby is rose gardening and I can be found pruning and deadheading roses at the Mesa Community College rose garden. A close third is cooking, usually dinners, which I look to incorporate new flavors into the family meals.

What is your chosen discipline? Why do you love it?
I have had the opportunity to be a jack-of-all-trades kind of engineer, but I have really enjoyed transportation and traffic mainly because of the diversity of projects just in this genre and for the new learning opportunities they present.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
It changes often but not because I cross the last one off the list. Today its Austria because much of my family’s history is there.

What’s one thing you are learning now and why is it important?
Game Theory. That’s a good question. Let’s set up a payoff matrix to find out.
