Jesse Udall, PE
Project Engineer and Dirt Biker
Tell us about your hobby.
The primary hobbies that I have in my life currently are woodworking and dirt bike riding. I was given a 1950’s model Delta Unisaw table saw from my Grandfather which I rebuilt completely (replaced all bearings, belts and rebuilt the motor). The dirt bike I currently ride is a 2013 KTM 300xc (yes, it’s a 2-stroke, love mixing the gas).
What is your chosen discipline? Why do you love it?
I work in engineering water & wastewater projects. It is not what I envisioned myself doing when I graduated from College (I always thought I would be a Structural Engineer, and I worked in that field for several years), but there are many challenging, technical aspects in designing water & wastewater systems. It has felt like a natural transition from the structural world to water/wastewater as both are technical in their own way. Solving their complex problems brings me great satisfaction.
What’s your superpower?
I have the ability to visualize complex 3-dimensional objects/systems and how they will interact before they are modelled and /or constructed.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I have not had the opportunity to travel much, so there are many places where I would like to visit. The top place on my list is San Francisco, California to see the Golden Gate Bridge (my structural tendencies still draw me toward this type of infrastructure).
