Tim Wolfe

Transportation Business Unit Leader and Traveler

Tell us about your hobby.
I love to go fishing. I was raised in Iowa, on the Mississippi River. Some of my greatest memories have been time spent fishing with my parents and brothers. Now I am making those same memories with my three sons and grandkids.

What is your chosen discipline? Why do you love it?
In graduate school, I was given a research assistantship. I was told that I would be working for ADOT on the fourth floor of the Research Center. I went up to the fourth floor, got off the elevator and went into the first office I could find. In that office I explained that I was looking for Professor ADOT. I had no idea that ADOT stood for the Arizona Department of Transportation. (After that, I spent the next 30 years working for the good professor)

If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would it be?
I would become an expert at plumbing. My wife, sons and I have renovated a number of houses. I can do most of the work. Unfortunately, I am pathetic when it comes to sweating pipes. I can never get a water tight joint.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Alaska. I have visited 49 states. This is the only state I have not visited. My wife and I have RV’d across 46 of the contiguous states. Would love to RV the Alaskan Highway.
