Dibble provided survey and civil engineering services for the
expansion the existing facility to accommodate an additional 1,200
inmates. The expansion covers approximately 20 acres and required
new water and sewer systems as well as fire and natural gas services.

The water system included storage, treatment and chlorination
facilities as well as domestic water and fire suppression pumping
systems. The sewer system included a sewer grinder to protect the
Town of Florence sewer system. The grading and drainage design
integrated the retention basins into the facility to allow use of the all
components during and after storm events. Dibble worked with the
design team to expedite the design and permitting process to allow the facility to meet the State of Arizona’s deadline for accepting inmates.
