Dibble provided survey, aerial mapping, civil design, bid assistance, limited construction administration, and master planning for the expansion of the Southern Desert Correctional Facility located in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Southern Desert Correctional Center is a medium security men’s prison with a maximum capacity of 2,149 inmates and sits on approximately 15 acres. The expansion encompassed two new, 240-bed dormitory style housing units that increased the bed count by 480.

The expansion also included a new kitchen facility, dining facility and laundry facility. Work at the Correctional Center also included site preparation, site utilities, grading and paving, a new Propane Tank Field located outside the secure perimeter, demolition, installation of new equipment, site work, fire sprinkler systems and all new electronic security systems.
